Jimmy Munoz started his apprenticeship in March of 2008. Under the supervision of all the artists at Rising Phoenix Tattoo, Jimmy started his career in the tattoo industry. His brother Beto quickly took control of his apprenticeship, teaching Jimmy how to be an artist. He soon found out that a tattoo apprenticeship would engulf all of his time. He says “it was all about practice in my apprenticeship. Always practicing gave me good art habits.” As the years have gone by Jimmy still believes that learning to be a great artist takes a lifetime. Jimmy has always strived to be a great mentor and artist in the tattoo and piercing industry. Working at Color Theory Tattoo for six years taught him how to put his head down and work hard. The experience he gained at Color Theory Tattoo will help him navigate the success of New Hope Tattoo. Jimmy told me “Always have a goal in mind” I know I can’t wait to see what Jimmy will do next.
Before getting into the tattoo industry Jimmy Munoz grew up in the northwest suburbs with his parents and two brothers. When Jimmy graduated from Lake Park high school in 2001, he decided to go to DePaul University for a B.A. in Business Marketing. Jimmy Munoz graduated in 2005 and began working at Staples in their marketing department. In 2008 he felt like he needed a change. His Brother Beto Munoz then approached him about tattooing and the rest his history. These two brothers have banded together to grow the tattoo industry in positive way. Out from the old street shops, New Hope Tattoo is a premium tattoo studio to give an amazing tattoo or piercing experience.
